Ok so how I even happened upon this book is beyond me. Just the title had me thinking of some type of fantasy werewolf fiction because Bite & Release is a behavior when training dogs. I read the brief description and decided I would read it while I wait patiently for the 3rd installment of the Hacker Series (6/16 is taking WAY TOO LONG). Soo…
Ryan left Alaska to pursue her dreams of becoming an actress and moved to NY only to find that unless she was doing porn no one was interested. She heads back to Alaska for her best friends wedding and her fathers funeral only to find that her besties little brother Shae, who she used to babysit when he was 8, is all grown up and sexy as sin.
Shae, has been in love with Ryan since he was 8yrs old. He didn’t care that she was 13yrs older than him. He wanted her and he’s to have her.
I started this book last night and it took me a bit to really get into it because I HATED the female lead. WHAT A BITCH! I’ve read some crappy female characters before and she ranks right up there with them. She is so selfish and sarcastic that it makes it hard to even sympathize with her. The only time she is nice is when it comes to Shae. I mean she is so shitty to her best friend that I can’t believe they are even friends at all. Granted she is a little bitter and as you read on she has a small right to be, but considering Shae and his sister’s story is SO much better than hers she could have been written a little better. The twists in this book made it enjoyable but I swear I really wanted to slap Ryan midway into the book. Shae is sexy, damaged and so lovable it’s sickening. The sexy time was off the hook so for that and sexy ass Shae I will give this book 3 out of 5 stars. It’s something to pass the time.
