I about as fickle as a fig..one day I love you the next day I don’t. I think that’s people in general..some people are loyal but most aren’t. I have a few authors I am totally LOYAL to and Karina Halle has made it to that exclusive list. I will forever read anything she writes! FOR. EV. ER!
It all started with a pinky swear…
Linden McGregor is tall, rugged, and gunslinger handsome; a helicopter pilot with a Scottish brogue and charm to spare. He’s also one of Stephanie Robson’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as she’s known him.
Beautiful, funny and an ambitious businesswoman (with one hell of an ass), Stephanie Robson is one of Linden McGregor’s best friends and has fit into that box for as long as he’s known her. But some relationships can’t be boxed, can’t be classified, can’t be tamed.
Back in their mid-twenties and tired of the competitive hit-or-miss dating scene of San Francisco, Steph and Linden made a pact to marry each other if neither one of them were in a serious relationship by the time they hit thirty.
It sounded like fun and games at the time but as the years to thirty tick past and lovers come and go out of their lives, the pact becomes larger than life.
Sex is inevitable. Friendships are tested. Hearts are on the line.
The pact is about to change everything.
I was hooked from the Prologue. This book has everything..love, heartbreak, comedy, jealousy, people over 20 and out of college. It was just awesome. To say I now have a book boyfriend with a Scottish accent is putting it mildly because any character that can invoke the IVC (involuntary vaginal clench) is tops in my book
“Then I’ll take off your jeans, inch by torturous inch, enjoying the show of your thighs before I reach your panties. I bet they’re ridiculously wet. Even right now, I bet they are soaked. I bet they’d taste good too. Then I’m going to fuck your wet pussy so good that you’ll wonder how you survived this love without me.”~Linden, The Pact
WHAT!??!! Yes Linden I have no idea how the hell I survived in the literary world without you. That’s right this guy is just the right amount of sweet, cocky, sexy and fun. And he has a freaking accent. I am a sucker for accents. Stephanie is no slouch either. She is a tough girl. Cute, curvy and likes to drink wine..my kinda chick. She doesn’t just fall all over Linden and she doesn’t give her self easily. They go through a multitude of challenges and it wouldn’t be a Ms. Halle novel if our characters didn’t deal with real life issues. That, my fellow bookies, is what I love most about this author. She gives you real life situations, things that could have happened to you or at least someone you know. Believable damaged characters, redeemable characters, lovable characters. Love In English and Love in Spanish introduced me to this wonderful author and The Pact has made me a fan for life. You already know my rating for this book but if you missed it 10 out of 5 stars.
