I had the unique pleasure of reading books 1 & 2 in this series in preparation for the release of book 3, Silently Broken, and I was pleasantly surprised. You can bet your sweet ass I will be purchasing book 3!!
Review: Okay, I usually try not to review a series until it’s complete. It’s hard to write about them because they are incomplete. I have read so many serials that I start loving then by the end of book 2 I’m like seriously, I waited a year for this AND it ends in ANOTHER cliff hanger…just to have to wait another year for the conclusion.
I’m gonna squeeze books 1&2 in here so please bear with me as this can be hard to do without spoiling it but I will try! So when I started this book I was a little skeptical because, although interesting, the blurb didn’t completely pull me in and I kept thinking “Damn it another freaking serial.” Then by the middle of the first chapter I was dying laughing thinking “WTF am I reading? Is there really a dance-off happening right now? Am I reading the book version of Step Up?” I was all ready to just blow through this book and blow it off..boy am I glad I didn’t. So after the corny dance scene, yes there really is a dance scene, this book sped up and didn’t slow down for a single second. I was so caught up in the story that I stayed up until about 4am to finish it. Zane is hot, sexy and fiercely loyal. He takes on a responsibility that you don’t expect from many people and that made me fall in love with him so I could see why Lili was in love with him too. Lili was a cool character, she is that one friend you can count on to have a good time with and will tell you the truth no matter if you want to hear it or not. And lets not forget Tish..Zane’s big brother and the freaking man! Although he isn’t a main character I love him just as much as Zane. He keeps everybody in check and doesn’t care if you like it or not!
So of course Lili and Zane like each other a little more than “just friends” but neither of them say a thing because they don’t want to ruin their “friendship”. This is our drama folks. But it gets so much better because Lili decides she needs some random to get over her feelings for Zane but the random she gets into or rather that gets into her sets off a chain of events that I DID NOT SEE COMING! I mean it was like BOOM B*TCHES take that and instantly I was TKO’d so naturally I went into book 2 at 9am that same day…hey a girl needs some sleep. Just to be put back on my ass.
After the thrilling cliffhanger of book 1, book 2 grabs you immediately and takes this crazy train even further off the tracks. Just when you think that there could be no more drama… that nothing else can stand in the way of Zane and Lili…that they are going to get themselves together and we are going to wrap this up with a happily ever after…another bomb gets dropped and I completely lose my sh!t right along with Zane. I mean a put the Kindle down and walked away for a minute, bomb is dropped and all this happens at about 35-40% through the book! Does it get better? Yes, yes it does. But I’m going to stop here because truthfully you have to read this for yourselves to truly understand my love and frustration as I patiently wait for book 3, Silently Broken to debut. So 4 great stars for this series so far, I can’t give it a 5 because I don’t know how it ends..

About the Author: Maegan despises writing about herself in the third person. She also hates touting her accomplishments like she thinks she’s really done anything special…
Now that we got that out of the way, I’ll tell you what you need to know. I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I went back to school in my late twenties and studied Stage Production Technology. I now work full-time in the alterations shop of a major department store and part-time backstage in the various theatres around the area. I’ve been an avid reader from a very young age and the top goal on my list of things to accomplish in my life was to write and publish a book. During the summer of 2013, while working backstage on The Lion King, I read eleven books in four weeks. I read my first New Adult book and was introduced to a genre I felt I could totally relate to. The idea for Perfectly Broken and the character of Lili was born backstage during that time.
