DNF…Did Not Finish. I actually did not finish a book. I have never NOT finished a book; series yes, stand alone no. Even if I didn’t like a book I finished it. With that said…I loved this book yet I did not finish, wait let me correct that; I could not finish. That’s something altogether different.

71FzY7HQokL._SL1500_Synopsis: Secrets. Everyone has one. Some are bigger than others. And when secrets are revealed, Some will heal you … And some will end you. Kate Sedgwick’s life has been anything but typical. She’s endured hardship and tragedy, but throughout it all she remains happy and optimistic (there’s a reason her best friend Gus calls her Bright Side). Kate is strong-willed, funny, smart, and musically gifted. She’s also never believed in love. So when Kate leaves San Diego to attend college in the small town of Grant, Minnesota, the last thing she expects is to fall in love with Keller Banks. They both feel it. But they each have a reason to fight it. They each have a secret. And when secrets are revealed, Some will heal you … And some will end you.

Review: This book has been on my radar for some time but I’ve avoided it. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about this book (Paige Thompson) but they all ended with, ” I cried my eyes out.” Every single person, blogger, or post about this book was the same thing. Oh. Hell. No. So I refused to read it. I put it off and filled my Kindle with everything other than Kim Holden’s Bright Side. After reading Emi Lost & Found I swore I would never read anything so emotional again. I cried. I mean full on Kim Kardashian ugly cried reading that book. And if you don’t know what Kim K. looks like when she cries here ya go..kk Now don’t get me wrong I love a good tear jerker of a movie and maybe even some silent tears when reading an emotional book, and I’d be lying if I said that I care if a book has a happily ever after. I don’t need a happily ever after but I do need a resolution, every book doesn’t NEED an HEA but it’s nice for those that deserve it. And Kate deserved it. Keller deserved it, Gus deserved it.

This amazingly written book had everything needed to make a great story and it was…is great and I don’t want it to end. So because of that I CNF. I fell in love with these characters. I fell in love with the writing. I fell in love period and that is not a feeling I am ready to let go of. I want to remember them as they are on page 308. And that is where I will leave them. So 5 stars for such a wonderful, fantastic, loving story.
