Cocky Whistle…

Yeah what a title right??!! Well that’s exactly what this weekend consisted of for me. Kirsty Dallas’, Bradley’s Whistle, and Cocky Bastard co-written by one of my fav authors Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland. So without further adieu…

bradleySynopsis: Was he a hitman? A Navy Seal? Gigolo? I had no idea what Bradley Emerson did for a living. I’d figure it out though, secrets didn’t sit well with me and I loved a challenge.
~ Wiska
I wanted her. I didn’t want to want her. The brain in my head was no longer in control of this vessel. Wanting her went against my rules, but apparently my male member was a rule breaker.
~ Bradley

Review: I One-clicked this as soon as I saw it was live because I absolutely adored the first novel, Decker’s Wood. This one gives us Decker’s best friend, Bradley Emerson and his fight not want another porn-star girlfriend. Yup folks PORN. STAR. That is what makes this so funny to me. I don’t know many guys who would “date” a porn star but plenty that would love to shag one. I also didn’t know that whistle” was another word for the ding-a-ling? Apparently so is man meat, danglies, and womb whislte..yuk!  In Decker we had a male porn star and with Bradley we get the female side of it.

I love that this is told in dual POV because reading Wiska’s thoughts will make you giggle because they are so random and crazy. And any chick that can say “cock-muppet” with a straight face is A+ in my book.

“And why do we wash towels? I mean we when we step out of the shower, we’re clean. We’re really just wiping away clean water so why do we need to wash the towels? And why the heck does Wile E. Coyote put all that effort into catching the Road Runner? He had all that money to buy all that crap to try and catch him, so why didn’t he just get takeout?” ~ Wiska

This book was a light-hearted love story with the occasional LOL and AWWW moments…sticky notes.

Bradley took a backseat to my favorite gay couple, Casey and Lionel. Casey, the one who suggested Andi bedazzle her coochie in book one, was at it again in this one. He not only brings comedic relief but also wonderful relationship and love advice:

People fall in love one letter at a time, Bradley. L comes first and it ends at E, but it’s the journey in the middle that give the word real meaning” ~ Casey

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this follow-up and give it  3.5 stars. It was a little out there but I enjoyed the foolishness of it all!

After finishing up with Bradley I immediately dived into Cocky Bastard because of my love for Penelope Ward (how many times must I say My Skylar is AMAZING before you believe me?). I will admit I was a little nervous because I’ve read a few collaborations that totally didn’t work but this one so did. Like 5 stars did. Oh wait I didn’t even do the review part yet…

cockySynopsis: He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska.
A sexy, cocky, Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive. When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually-tense nights in hotels and taking unplanned detours. My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fun and games until things got intense. I wanted him, but Chance wouldn’t make a move. I thought he wanted me too, but something was holding him back. I wasn’t supposed to fall for the cocky bastard, especially when I knew we’d be going our separate ways. All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK. Review done!

Just kidding..but really I loved it. The book is broken down into two parts, his & hers. So once again folks we are getting dual POVs and can I tell you, IMO, that is the best when you are writing a romance novel. I love to feel both characters emotions not just one and wonder about the other.

Chance is on his way to California and so is Aubrey a mechanical malfunction put them together on the road trip of their lives. I enjoyed the banter between the two of them and Chance really was a cocky bastard. His confidence made you wanna slap his face then kiss his lips, total BBF material. The shenanigans that these to get into on their 8 day trek to California is hilarious. The blind, fainting goat made me piss my pants laughing I am not sure whose idea that was but it was genius!

Aubrey is cute, I can’t think of any other way to explain her. She wasn’t a weak or whiny heroine but she wasn’t so strong that she gave you that ” I don’t need a man” vibe either. I liked her. I really enjoyed her struggle in part II of the book. Glad that she didn’t just make it easy, but I didn’t know how she was able to hold out when Chance was saying things like:

“I love you, Aubrey. Can’t you see that? I am head over heels in f*cking love with you. I love you more than anything in this entire would. When I look into your eyes, I don’t just see you, I see my children. Hell I see an entire farm of children and deaf, dumb and blind goats.” ~Chance

I said it before and I will say it again 5 stars, great from beginning to end.
