I’m not gonna lie to you when I say I was only interested in this book because the title was in French. For some reason I am obsessed with the language and currently studying it. I want to visit at least 2 French-speaking countries and hopefully get a hall pass from my husband (although I doubt it) to see if a Frenchman “french kisses” better than an American. But anyway…

Fleur CoverSynopsis: The difference between wanting and taking is the barest catch of breath…

Review: Holy wet panties Batman!! This book was soak your drawers hot…and you all know how much I love smut. I will say this is my first time reading a romance novel with F/F in a story but it was quite interesting. I did enjoy all the characters and the fact I understood most of the french that was spoken/typed throughout the novel made me giddy as a school girl.

Moira (please don’t ask me to pronounce this because I couldn’t figure it out, so I just went with Mariah) has had it rough. I mean damn rough…her ex is presently serving time in prison or trying to murder her after he repeatedly raped her. What a way to start a story…well it doesn’t “start” there but you get that much from the synopsis. Anyway, her best friend takes her to a BDSM club… Okay tangent break real quick, first of all, who does that? Seriously? If one of my friends took me to a club where pain (I know they say pleasure as well) is the focus for some and giving pain is the focus of others, I might seriously reconsider our friendship. Chick I was emotionally and physically scarred WTF were you thinking!!??!?? where they meet up with sexy French Dom Adrian. He pretty much runs the kink scene in New Orléans and he is a sexy beast. This is where the books goes from awww to awww sh!t. Since control is what Moira craves after it was taken from her, becoming Adrian’s protegé isn’t such a bad idea or a too far-fetched one. The “training” in the beginning is sexy and detailed but as you move along in the story it gets glossed over. However, the story never gets too boring or too predictable.

I enjoyed the peek into the BDSM world this book gave. The parties, the recruiting and the night life. It was a little more detailed than FSOG but it not so hardcore that you’re overwhelmed with it. The supporting characters were all developed and flowed well with the story. I think my favorite character was Mistress Tamara. So yeah folks I’m gonna give this two different ratings…4 stars for the story and 5 stars for the smut…this is definitely a night-time have your boo or your BOB ready for some action type of read!
