It’s LIVE!!! And I loved every. single. word. of this book!
No, I didn’t lose her. I threw her away.
She was my best friend.
I was never supposed to fall in love with her.
I was careless.
She was heartbroken.
I was doing fine until she came back into my life and reminded me what love was supposed to feel like.
When it’s all said and done, she may not want to stay, but this time I’m going to do everything in my power to not let her go.
Review: LOVED. LOVED. LOVED it!! This book was an amazing love story and I truly didn’t want it to end…Claire Contreras really knows how to tell a story. I was invested in these characters from the start. Now, Jensen and Mia are introduced to us via Kaleidescope Hearts as supporting characters to Oliver and Estelle’s story but you don’t HAVE to read it first but you should because it, too, was awesome.
I recommend starting you gotta start with the novella Torn Hearts before you go into this book because it sets up this story.
Jensen is so wonderful, like jumped passed book boyfriend to book husband, wonderful. I enjoyed the snippets into his thoughts via his newspaper column, “Jensen Talks.” He gives so much of himself whereas before he was sort of closed off but with plenty of reason. I loved how he tried to do the right thing no matter how much it hurt him or the people he loved. As he matured he realized that having your cake and eating it too isn’t impossible if you do the work. And work he did. He wanted Mia back and he was going to stop at nothing to get her. I also loved how he loved Mia AND Olivia…he did everything for them which in turn made him happy…again, Amazing hero.
“For Mia, who never tried to alter my language, but instead learned to translate the meaning behind my silence” ~ Jensen
Mia was totally awesome. She is funny, quirky, beautiful and hurting. Jensen meant the world to her so losing him crushed her completely. Seeing him again wasn’t something she planned for but knew was a possibility. What she wasn’t expecting was to still love him as fiercely as she did (denial honey because I still Facebook stalk a few folks and I will admit it..no shame in my game). She was conflicted and rightfully so, so I will give her that… but she didn’t jerk him around she wasn’t weak and pitiful either. She was a great counter to him and I enjoyed reading this story from her POV. I totally had a LOL moment when she was talking to her friend Estelle (from Kaleidescope Hearts)…
Mia to Estelle: “Are you pregnant?”
“You know I’m going to love whatever comes out of your vagina”
So 5+ stars folks, this Novella + Novel = Amazing addition to your TBR!!
