I am so in love with Penelope Ward…as an author. She is the beautiful mind behind one of my top 5 favorite books, My Skylar. Well let me tell you that she has definitely done it again with Sins of Sevin. Every. single. thing. this woman writes is amazing and I can’t wait to order a signed copy of this book.
My name is Sevin. Homeschooled and sheltered by my ultra-religious family, I was always taught that lust was a sin. Elle was the girl who’d been carefully chosen for me. After a long-distance courtship, I’d be moving into her family’s guesthouse so that we could get to know each other in the months before the wedding. Boundaries were set: no inappropriate touching, no kissing, no sex before marriage. I’d accepted those rules and my fate. Until I met the one I wanted to sin with. That was when restraint became a problem…especially since THE ONE wasn’t Elle.
It was her sister, Evangeline.
You know what they say about best laid plans. My name is Sevin, and I have sinned.
Review: This book is so damn good, I’m pissed it took me a week after release week to read it. But at the same time I wanted to savor it. I loved that is was written in dual POV that always makes a book better, IMO, and it certainly helped here. Both characters were raised in a very religious families and had issues with the strict rules of religion, especially when it came to matters of the heart. Sevin is an awesome hero, he was sexy and flawed with good intentions and isn’t that how we usually like ’em ladies??
” I want to live the truth. And you’re my truth.” ~ Sevin
Being in love with the “wrong” sister made this so interesting, so angsty and so filled with juicy forbidden goodness.
Evangeline is so torn between her love for her sister and the new love she has for Sevin. Fighting it with everything in her she makes a great heroine. She wants more out of life then to being a house wife and that makes her the outcast of her family. Keeping the promise she made herself gets harder and harder the longer she is around Sevin..
“You can physically stay away from me, Evangeline. Sure. You can even move hundreds of miles away, But can’t you see I’ll still be with you?” He patted his chest. “I’ll be right here…in your heart, in your dreams, under your skin.” ~ Sevin
Half-way through the book something happens that I “saw” coming but with a twist that I didn’t expect but loved completely!! So I will not spoil this for you, I will just say get this damn book and any other book written by Penelope Ward because you will NOT be disappointed. 5++ stars for this Sinfully delicious book.
