fa_coverSynopsis: She can forgive, but can she forget?

Some days, Everly still thinks she sees him. In the food court at the mall, or in a car speeding past as the light changes. It only lasts a second, but when it happens, she slips back to a time when she was ruled-and nearly ruined-by August Kincaid. And it doesn’t matter that she’s moved on, that she’s about to marry another man. In those moments the only thing she can do to regain control is take a deep breath and remind herself that August can’t hurt her-because he’s in a coma. Except that he’s not anymore.

August is awake. With no memories, he sets out to solve the mystery of his lost life. He unearths a photograph of a beautiful redhead named Everly and knows instinctively that she’s the key. But when he finds her, the August she describes is more monster than man.

Tortured by the thought of having hurt her, August wants only to become the man Everly deserves. As the new August emerges, Everly glimpses the person she first fell in love with. But can she trust that this August is real? When the final secret of their shared past is revealed, one of them will make a choice that changes their future forever . . .

Review: This book was fantastic! I can’t even begin to express how much I enjoyed it but I’ll try.

Everly was a pretty good heroine. I enjoyed her for the most part and at times she irritated my soul. I went back and forth with her character because we don’t have the entire back story. We are given little glimpses into what happened prior to August slipping into a coma and what we see isn’t good. I battled with her character because of the way she treated her new beau. He was amazing to and for her yet she just couldn’t escape her love for August.

I felt so bad for August, to wake up and have no memories of anything must be frightening. Not only does he have no memories he has no family or friends and the only person who has answers seems to hate him for being an a$$hole. Now he wants to start over to try and be the man that Everly was once in love with. I loved how they started over again, I loved how they fell in love all over again. I know it sucks that someone got hurt in the process but reading their love was so…touching.

But of course it was only good for so long, past ghost come back to bite August in the butt and he is forced to try and fix things before Everly finds out. Now we all know how much I hate a cliffhanger all because I am such and impatient person and this one is no different. I was so into this book that I was still up at 1am going strong and when I got to the end I wanted to shake something or someone. NOOOoooooo that was not happening, now I have to wait for the follow up, Remembering Everly. I can’t give too much away here folks but 4.5 stars for this fantastic J.L. Berg newbie.
