It hurts my heart when I start a series and have to wait for the next books. It sucks because sometimes authors spread the releases out so far I forget about them. This was one of them, but hey…at least it didn’t disappoint, much.
Synopsis: My name is Lucian Quinn and I own one of the most successful software companies in the world. I’m twenty-nine, rich and single. Impressive right? I’m also a favorite target for every hungry socialite looking to land the uncatchable catch. Maybe it sounds vain, but the fact that I’m a God between the sheets doesn’t hurt my stock any. What these women don’t know though is that I’m completely screwed up and damaged beyond repair by my past. The only part of me I’ll ever willingly give them is the hour it takes to make them scream…several times.
Then I saw her…
I’m Lia Adams and I’m in my last year at St. Claire’s University in North Carolina. I grew up with an abusive mother, and a twisted stepfather who was worse…so much worse. I’m so close to escaping from my past and making my dreams come true. I’ll do anything necessary to survive, even work as an escort to help pay for my college expenses. The men that I accompany to various events as an escort for Date Night are mostly harmless and just want an attractive woman on their arm for an evening. It has never gone further than that…until him…
Lucian finally shares his past heartache and guilt with Lia. Free of the shadows that have haunted them, they are ready to move forward together.
Until…the woman who destroyed Lucian’s life eight years ago is suddenly free. Lucian is in a frantic race against time to convince those around him that Cassie is the ultimate threat to all that he holds dear. He’ll stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves even if he has to wage a war against his best friend to do it.
Review: This is gonna be a quick one; only because as part of a trilogy this is one I can’t talk too much about without spoiling it. I enjoyed this book. It was a fitting conclusion to this couples imperfect love story. Sydney Landon did a great job writing these two flawed individuals.
I loved that Lucian wasn’t perfect. He battled demons that someone so young shouldn’t have to deal with, but such is life ya know. His coping mechanisms I simply don’t agree with but with what he was dealing with I can’t say that I don’t understand.
Lia’s life is no better. This girl has the epitome of a hard-knock life. I’m glad she didn’t let it knock her down completely but cheese & rice how much sh*t can you thrown at one person.
Lia and Lucian’s love and patience is put to the test in this final installment of this love story. I loved how it all came together although it started to get a little weird there at the end. It always amazes me how far people will go for revenge. I also enjoyed the supporting characters. They played such an important part driving the story that I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a spin off in the works.
So 3.0 stars for the conclusion and 4.0 stars for the series as a whole. Get them on Amazon by clicking HERE
