My Thoughts: I have the biggest girl crush on Penelope Ward! Her work is so AMAZING; she hasn’t written a book that I didn’t love. Which is what I am here to tell ya. RoomHate was great!!
So yeah, Amelia’s grandmother leaves her this house after she passed away (R.I.P granny) but the kicker is also leaves it to her pseudo grandson Justin. Amelia and Justin were best friends when they were younger but Amelia left and they stopped speaking to each other for 9 years. Amelia is scared to death to share the house with him since she was in love with Justin when she left and never told him. She is certain he hates her because every attempt to talk to him to explain her sudden departure has resulted in silence on his side. Amelia was a pretty good heroine. She was a bit whiny towards the end but overall she was good to read.
Penelope gives me a new book boyfriend every time she writes so Justin’s crude ass was no different. He was hot and mean and sweet and sensitive and could play guitar and just…perfect. I loved him from the second he walked into the house with his dirty laundry and girlfriend. Yup he has a gf but don’t worry Amelia is NOT the chick on the side so all my goody-too-shoes you’re safe from scandal(clutches pearls). He knew the circumstances that caused Amelia to leave; he just never understood why she left him. This is where the angst come in.
Oh. My. Goodness, the “unrequited love” makes you crazy in this book. I wanted to scream with every turn of the page but I couldn’t put it down! Every time I flipped I was like WWWHHAAATTT!!!! NOOOOO!!! And right when I was ready to swoon and fall in love a major curve ball gets thrown and I DIED. Yup just a little. But I was brought back to life in major Penelope fashion. So my friends I am here to tell you that this book is a 5 star read. Yup it totally is; Oh, and there is one part in this book that is so hot I had to turn on the fan.

Blurb: Sharing a summer house with a hot-as-hell roommate should be a dream come true, right?
Not when it’s Justin…the only person I’d ever loved…who now hates me. When my grandmother died and left me half of the house on Aquidneck Island, there was a catch: the other half would go to the boy she helped raise. The same boy who turned into the teenager whose heart I broke years ago. The same teenager who’s now a man with a hard body and a hardass personality to match. I hadn’t seen him in years, and now we’re living together because neither one of us is willing to give up the house. The worst part? He didn’t come alone. I’d soon realize there’s a thin line between love and hate. I could see through that smug smile. Beneath it all…the boy is still there. So is our connection.
The problem is…now that I can’t have Justin, I’ve never wanted him more.
Author’s note – RoomHate is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.
