Review: Dark romance is typically not my thing. I got tricked by a friend into the Monsters in the Dark series and to be honest with you, it was one of the most intriguing series I’ve ever read. So when Ms. Winters added a 4th book into this series I was genuinely curious.
If you haven’t read the series then stop here, you will have no clue what I am talking about, however, for those of you who need a refresher here’s my review of the series.
Tess and Q’s love was something I didn’t originally understand because it wasn’t a love I was used to reading about, however, at its core…at its raw center, their love was so unconventionally beautiful that I appreciated it much more.
“I didn’t comprehend him in English, I heard him in my soul.” ~Tess
This is how deep a love these two people have for each other that the only logical step is to share that unconventional love and this is a story of that journey. Although, it is hinted around in the beginning and finally “revealed” toward the end the journey to get there was pretty interesting. I couldn’t stop reading because I was too curious to stop. I still skimmed the “love” scenes because, well, again the details…oh dear god the details. So 4.5 stars for this addition to the family of Monsters, Pepper Winters definitely knows how to tell an Out-of-the-Box story.
