Refrain by Kennedy Ryan

Review: I needed a day to fully understand that my love for Rhyson and Kai Anne has finally come to an end. I fell in love with these two characters from the beginning of their story with My Soul to Keep. Their love was different and not instant, not that anything is wrong with instalove stories, but this love grew into something I think every girl hopes for one day, unconditional. This type of unconditional love Rhyson proves in the follow-up novel Down to My Soul. All this builds up to the final verse in their song, Refrain. Man although this book was shorter than the others it was just as good. There really isn’t too much I can say without spoiling this book. There was of course drama, but it wasn’t the typical drama you would expect. I mean hell, I was completely blindsided by what happened, only because I didn’t expect that to be what this book was about. I was focused on one aspect when BAM! something else jumped out from behind the curtain. Now don’t get me wrong, I loved the bit of drama Ms. Ryan included this go round and I also loved how she made me a little pissed with Kai. You’ll see why when you read the book, **still giving my girl Kai the side eye**, however, she redeems herself in my eyes. So 4.5 stars for this installment to the Soul Series and 5 stars for the series as a whole!! I can’t wait to see what’s next with this author she hasn’t missed a beat yet.

ecover refrainPeople dream of a love that runs deep. So deep it feels like it’s always been with you, just waiting for the person who’ll own your heart and soul forever. So few ever find it, but for Rhyson Gray and Kai Pearson, happily ever after was only the beginning…

One of the biggest rock stars in the world and one of the brightest rising stars make a life together. Sometimes it’s glamour-filled days and blissed out nights, but it’s mostly staying true in the too-bright glare of the spotlight. It’s long stretches where the road is lonely and the work is hard. It’s living in a love that’s the safest place you know even while danger lurks at your door.

Book 3 of The Soul series is an emotionally-charged epic conclusion that had to be told and should not be missed for fans of this series and this couple!
