Blurb: From his dirty-blond hair and breathtaking smile, to the abs from heaven and the irresistible V in his waistline, everything about Bodi Olympic-gold-medalist Banks screams hot piece of @$$.
Yet there’s more.
Dark shadows lurk behind his soulful, serious eyes.
I’m enamored. He’s captured me.
How can running an art foundation with Bodi Banks turns into a slow-burning, epic romance, even though he tries to push me away at every chance? How can I stay away from a broken, routine-driven man whose soul cries to be forgiven for a crime only he believes he committed? Or is that a lie?
Review: So this is book 2 in my girl’s new series, the Stroked Series and it was just as good as the first. Not that kind of stroked you nasty pervs (although that kind is so awesome) it’s about swimmers…the Michael Phelps kind. Anywho, this go ’round we are focusing on Bodi; the quiet broody dude from book 1 that we met briefly. Bodi is a tortured soul, you know the kind us girls love to love and try and save, yup…hot, sad, sexy, silent, ab-a-licious and broody Bodi is our hero. He is socially awkward and a total introvert due to a traumatic accident that happened when he was 12yrs old. Watching him go through everyday life and eventually falling for a girl is amazing. You’ll end up falling in love with his awkwardness and will find his little quirks endearing. There was only one thing I felt that would have made him the total package for me that would be if he was a virgin. His life was so centered on order and as often as he limited the people in his life and didn’t like to be touched I felt like this would have made his innocence all the more captivating.
Ruby is the girl that everyone loves. She’s not the popular girl but not so nerdy, artsy-fartsy that you don’t get her. She is happy, optimistic with just the right amount of sass to keep you giggling and you just know she is perfect for Bodi. I mean opposites attract and all. Without getting too deep into the story the way these two click is amazing. I loved all of their interactions and their inner musings. Yup, ladies and gents, DUAL POV!!! This always makes a story better, IMO. And let us not forget Ms. Quinn’s trademark wit, this woman can write a funny story (Virgin Romance Novelist).
So guess what I’m giving it 4.5 stars. This is a definite addition to the TBR list folks. Each book can be read as a stand alone and thank GAWD there wasn’t much Bellini in this one, I might have died.
P.S. The man-v on the cover model is delicious
