All I Want Is You…Review

allIwantisyouBlurb: Cayson is in love with Skye Preston, his best friend for over twenty years. They grew up together, bathed together, and spent every holiday together. Hoarding the secret hasn’t been easy. Every time Cayson sees her with a boyfriend, he wants to smash his fist into a wall.

But he could never tell her the truth.

The close friendship they have is too good to be ruined. If he confessed his deepest feelings, how would it change what they have? Would he lose her altogether?

But everything changes when Cayson finds Skye at a party, drunk and incoherent. Unable to stand on her own two feet with breath reeking of alcohol, she’s easy prey to the men staring at her noticeable chest. Cayson immediately scoops her into his arms and takes her home. But when they arrive at the house, Skye doesn’t want to sleep. Instead, she wants Cayson in a way she’s never had before.

What will this mean for their relationship? Is it the start of something Cayson has always dreamed of? Or will it be the end?

Review: This was a cute quick read. I knocked it out in one sitting, not because it was so enthralling that I couldn’t put it down, but more because I had nothing better to do. Now, that is not to say that the book wasn’t good because it was. I just think my 17yr old niece would’ve appreciated it more than I would have. I was annoyed with the characters but that is probably because I am old enough to be their mother. I would’ve love to read about the parents since they seem to be the most interesting part of this story. Apparently, this is the beginning of a series, however, I don’t plan to keep reading because this just wasn’t my cup of tea. 3 stars because I’m and adult but 4 stars if I’m thinking with my 20yr old mind

Jude_FrontCoverBlurb: Jude

I faked my way long enough by keeping my mouth shut, painting a fake smile on my face and focusing hard on my job. I quit going out to find that random piece of ass. Not a one of them would stand up to her anyway. She hates me, loathes me even. Little does Vivian Shepard know I’ve got more tricks up my sleeve than she will ever begin to imagine to get her to change her mind, to get my chance.

I’m not giving up.

I want her, and by God, I’ll fight as dirty as I can get to have her.

No matter what!

Of course, I knew it was a one- night stand. It’s was the perfect night before all hell broke loose to be quite honest. Drinking, talking and flirting.

One I relished in as I tried to gravitate my mind back to solid ground after soaring so high I could feel the rush of flying. My stomach dipped, my heart fluttered, and my toes curled inward and then I splattered to the hard surface of the ground. Jude Westbrooke opened his big fat mouth.

He ruined it, ruined me, ruined it all.

Review: This was only “Meh” for me. I’ve read books by Kathy Coompans and they were pretty good. I just couldn’t get behind this one. It was wordy as hell! I found myself skimming a lot just to get to some dialogue. Which sucks because I  usually love stories that are written in alternating POVs (we go from Jude’s voice to Vivian’s) but this one was simply frustrating. Jude was an ass most of the time. I can get behind and alpha male but this guy was straight up rude about some things and it just wasn’t cool. Then there was Viv (insert eye roll here) she wasn’t as bad to read as Jude was but I didn’t feel the connection that was supposed to be between the two of them. Did they really fall in love after one night? And if they did, how could he still be this hung up on her all this time later? Then here comes the plot twist…one I didn’t see coming and one that definitely didn’t make any damn sense once I got it all figured out. I was like WTF are you kidding me!! I’m all for fiction but this made no sense at all. However, I do plan to read book 3 which is Tyson’s story. This book sets up his story and it seems super interesting. I found myself wondering more about his story than the one I was reading. So for that, I give this book 3 stars. On the plus side, the cover model is sexy AF!

e048f-resurection2bf2bcover2bd-2Blurb: Jenna: My life was perfect. I’d had it all: a doting husband, a career on the rise, and great kids. When all that comes down around me—when I lose the one person I need— it feels like my world has been swirling around the edges of a black hole. A never-ending despair that is consuming me. The vows I had made to him still haunt me, still feel as fresh as the day I’d spoken those words. But he’s gone and I don’t know how to move on. I’m not even sure I could.

Until… I meet him.

I was happy. So happy. There was nothing more that a man could ask for. I had the kind of fairy tale that few get. I worked hard and played hard, but my family always came first. But when it all crumbled around me, I didn’t know how to carry on without the love of my life at my side. They say, ‘till death do us part’. I just never thought she’d go before me. Now, all I do is exist because I must, and my children need me. But some days, I can’t push past the pain and misery. Sometimes, I don’t know what the hell I’m supposed to do.

Then she comes crashing into my life. And in that instant, I know… My life will never be the same again.

Review: I absolutely adored this novel. This book, the first of what I hope to be many from this author, is a joy to read. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster from chapter 1 and by chapter 2 I was reaching for Kleenex and hoping that his book was NOT going to be a cry-fest. We all need one every now and again, but in the middle of a trying semester, I was NOT ready for that type of release. Luckily I was not subjected to much more tissue grabbing. Thank goodness.

I love Chase (H). He is such a joy to read. Told from alternating points of view, every time I was reading him I felt myself smile a little bit, and root for him just a little harder to get the girl. The only thing that bugged me about Chase, he had no problems leaving the babies and as a mom, I get anxiety about leaving my little even if it’s with my sister.

Jenna (h)is a vulnerable mess, but she has every reason to be. I love how she cares for her babies and her commitment to them and work is admirable, but girlfriend needed to get laid. Bad. Enter my main man Chase (go get ‘er tiger!). The push and pull between these two is romance novel gold. Especially in a second chance romance. You don’t want to make the same mistakes as before so you’re cautious AND when you have kids dating’s even more complicated. I loved loved loved it because I could relate since my husband and I met when I already had a 9-year-old son. Anywho, the star of this book is and forever will be Lacey. The precocious three-year-old who stole every scene she was in. I fell in love with this cutie instantaneously. What she brings to this story is so innocent and precious you can’t help but love her.

Now for the not so greats…it ended too soon. Just when all the juicy bits are coming to light we get and epilogue that jumps us ahead 7 years. WTF!!wedding-crashers-wtf My feelings were hurt because dammit I needed answers! It doesn’t look like we are getting a second book so you will have to hit up the author for the answers to those questions. Maybe she’ll be a gem and do a Q&A with me some time??? So, 4.5 stars for this wonderful debut novel by newcomer Maggie J. Schuler!
