So sorry I am late with this, my birthday was this week and I’ve been celebrating so absolutely NO writing had been done. Now, before moving forward please note that this book is part of a pair and the 2nd book releases May 22nd and I will be there for it!!!
How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:
Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.
Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.
How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:
Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.
Check. Check. Check.
I should add–especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss.
Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.
Especially when he’s mean to you.
Or so I thought.
Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.
That was sort of how it all started with Rush.
And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.
I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.
I wasn’t supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.
As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting–and complicated.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.
Review: As much as I love me some Vi and Pe (Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward) you guys probably think I’ve drunk the Kool-Aid. Well, I have not they are just that good. Every book I’ve read that they’ve co-authored has been a 4 or 5-star read.
Gia is a writer and she is in the Hamptons for the summer hoping to get inspiration to finish a book she is writing. I really enjoy Gia, she is super sweet, has an ugly doll collection and is honest to a fault. Well, maybe not a fault but she is open about a lot and it is refreshing. She is also borderline crazy…there is no way in hell I am spending my $10,000 publishing advance on a summer SHARE house in the Hamptons. SHARE. As in multiple roommates. $10,000 what in the actual EFF am I getting for 10K. It better come with a personal chef for the summer, be right on the beach and it BETTER NOT RAIN the entire summer! Ok, I’m back from that tangent. Gia is a great character and I am excited to see where this goes although I am pretty sure how this ends, I can’t wait to read all the messy that will ensue before it does.
Rush is the man. I love everything about him except that he smokes. Cigarettes smell like ass and I really don’t understand the appeal but to each his own. Rush is so cool that I want to be his friend. He doesn’t ooze sex to me like a lot of other characters but I like him a lot and can’t wait to go on his emotional journey when we get to book 2 because it is definitely going to affect him more than Gia, IMO. And no I can’t tell you because it will definitely ruin the book for you, and I wouldn’t do that. All of that to say I give this start 4.5 stars.
