Three Blind Dates…Review

three blind datesBlurb: “Good Morning Malibu, it’s another beautiful day on the west coast! I’m Noely Clark, your host: and I’m in the market for love…”

When the publicity team of the new local restaurant, Going in Blind, began their search for a hot, local celebrity to promote the wildly popular eatery, they couldn’t have found a better person than me.

Outgoing? Check.
Single? Check.
Open to finding love? Check.

I signed up immediately.

A hopeless romantic with an exceedingly demanding schedule, I’ve found it impossible to find the man of my dreams—so Going in Blind seems too good to be true! That’s until they start setting me up on dates—three very different, very attractive, very distinct blind dates—and only one thing is for certain . . .

I’m in big trouble.

“Good Morning Malibu,
I’m Noely Clark, and I have a choice to make.
The question is who will I choose; the suit, the rebel, or the jock.”

Review: My love for Meghan Quinn is ridiculous. Her book, The Virgin Romance Novelist, is on my Top Ten of all-time list. That book is so damn funny that I had tissues next to me because I literally cried laughing.

This book wasn’t as funny as that but it definitely had its moments.

“It’s not like I said cock or throbbing man sword.” ~Noely

“Do you think you can get me into the locker room? All I want is to be snapped in the ass by one of the players with a towel. I swear, I’ll pull my pants down and give them the best type of ass-snapping canvas, all white and creamy.” ~Alex

I truly enjoyed reading this and knocked it out in 2 days. It’s not a terribly long read, however, I had to substitute teach a middle school English class and Three Blind Dates was not on the approved reading list. So, Noely (I still hate this name because I can’t say it) is a pretty awesome heroine. I love that she knows herself and what she wants out of life. Her courage to try this new dating app is applaudable considering most dating apps are really just hook-ups apps in disguise. She handles herself pretty well and as the reader, you can’t help but feel just as invested in these dates and she is. However, I started to sweat a bit when “we” went on the third date, considering the app promises the first match is the perfect match and here “we” are on match #3 and still no hope for a relationship. Damn! Being single is stressful.

As for the guys she gets paired with, I adored each and every one of them. The Suit, The Rebel, and The Jock were all great guys. I can’t give too many details without ruining it for you guys just know that each guy has their own baggage and because the title has Series in it, you can tell there is going to be a spin-off and we will have stories from the bachelors that didn’t make Noely’s cut.

4-stars for the start of Meghan’s Dating Blind Series

Stroked Hard…Review

So apparently WP didn’t post my scheduled review of this book during MQ week so here it is…late

strokedhardBlurb: He’s hot. Like, stop breathing kind of hot with his killer body, vivid blue eyes, and constant five o’clock shadow.

Did I mention his body?

Watching Hollis Knightly, Olympic diving gold medalist, man-pony specialist—and cocky bastard—stand up on the diving platform in nothing but a small piece of Spandex? Yeah, I’m beguiled.

And easily seduced.

I want to keep things light but he won’t leave me alone. And hell, if he’s not wearing me thin.

What is supposed to be a simple summer fling with a very hot man, has now morphed into a f*cked-up mess of feelings, attachment, and dare I say it…love? But I don’t do relationships. And Hollis Knightly does.

Review: I love just about everything this woman writes so, this is no different. I completely enjoyed reading the final book in the stroked series. I must say I didn’t realize swimmers were so hot (Google them you will appreciate the view). Of the three Hollis is definitely my favorite he edged out Reese because of his humor. I love when books are written in dual POVs and I completely loved when I saw Hollis’ name at the chapter mark. He is just too sweet for words. Although I am sure most people who think Glitter Tits is a compliment wouldn’t be considered sweet, I thought all of his nicknames were amazing and if I had to pick an MQ book boyfriend I am totally going for Hollis. I love that he is so emotionally aware of himself and he feels everything. Even through his joking facade, you can tell he loves hard. Again, my absolute fav. Melony, on the other hand, is not. I mildly liked her. She isn’t a bad person and it wasn’t that she was difficult to read, I just couldn’t believe that she lets her “issue” consume her the way that it does. I get it, I truly do, but, I feel like she took it too far to the left and it completely stunts her.

I also enjoy that we get to see Reese and co make several appearances it this book since it is happening at the same time that the other books are taking place. Overall, this is a good read and you should check out this series if you haven’t already. 4.5 for this fun-loving romance.

My Best Friend’s Ex…Review

mbfeBlurb: When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.

Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal since Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.

Boy, was I wrong.

Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.

Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.

But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.

Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.

Review: Well this isn’t what I was expecting. First off let me say that I am glad I read the blurb. The title is a turn off for me, it sounds like one of those “Sleeping with the Billionaire Bad Boy and Having his Baby While being His Temporary Secretary since the Permanent One is on Maternity Leave” (no offense if this is your genre, read what ‘cha like)types of books that make me insane. Now, the cover model is hot but because I also read Co-Wrecker, he isn’t how I pictured Tucker but he’ll do. On to the story.

Meghan Quinn has done it again. This freaking book was so good I couldn’t put it down. Although it took me two days to read (I’m in the South of France and the beach has been calling my name) it was so worth savoring. Tucker is the “ex” from the book Co-Wrecker, he was a likable enough character in that book, he just seemed super needy to me so I was a bit nervous to give him a chance in this book. He was needy alright, but not in the way I was thinking. The story is told in both the main characters, Tucker and Emma, first person point of view which almost always wins brownie points in my book. Tucker is complex yet extremely simple and so damn loving that you will love him as much as Emma does.

Emma is super cute. We also met her in Co-Wrecker yet, she is so much more than her quiet character suggested from the previous book. Here we get to see her open up with her group of friends from school. She is more laid back and not so matronly with them which is fun. The only thing I wondered about is why she wanted to be a nurse. Maybe it was burnout but girlfriend seemed to hate doing “nursey-type” things so I wasn’t sure if that is the right career path for her. In true Meghan Quin fashion, the road to romance with these two is fun, funny and sexy all at the same time so you can’t help but root for their coupledom. I was a bit nervous when the “ex” came back into the picture but it was done tastefully and honestly making this book a knockout for me. I totally enjoyed it and I am so hoping to get a book with Racer as the lead. I laughed so hard at him at times that he HAS to make a reappearance somewhere done the line. 4.5 stars for this fun read I had to take .5 star away for that darn title but other than that this is worth the time!
