All About the D…Review

allabouttheDBlurb: You know how people say you can never believe what you read on the interwebs? That a hot guy online is probably a creeper with a beer gut and a shoe fetish, not the sexy beast he pretends to be?
So I had no clue that the anonymous blogger who contacted my law firm about his naughty website would be droolworthy in real life. Not that I’m interested in him in that way. Attorneys can’t go around sleeping with their clients. Not even if he is the most beautiful man I’ve ever met and so ridiculously smart he makes my nerdy-girl heart sigh.
Besides, he has too much on the line to risk taking a chance on the insane chemistry building between us. We both do.
I’ve always followed the rules. Too bad he makes me want to break each and every one of them.
*** All About the D is a romantic comedy and a full-length standalone. Due to adult situations and sexual content, it’s recommended for readers over the age of 18.  ***

Review: ADD IT! ADD IT! ADD IT! This is a TBR must have. Not because it was the best thing I’ve ever read but because it was original, well written and funny. I absolutely adored this one-sitter quitter! The story line wasn’t one I’ve read before and that had me totally hooked. I loved the content and all the D jokes that came along with it (I have the sense of humor of a 12yr old boy…I secretly still laugh at fart jokes).

Josh(H) is hiding several things about his identity but his D isn’t one of them. He is an amazing character and I was totally in love with him from the moment I started to read from his POV. He is different from most alpha males in the novels out there and that is a major plus for him too. Evie(h) is an amazing person and attorney. She has several reasons to be insecure but she doesn’t let it stop her from being great. She has an amazing friend and it is clear she isn’t sleeping her way to the top like some other hoochie in the law firm. The relationship she and Josh develop feels so organic that you can’t help but root for them the entire time. I laughed out loud several times and got completely frustrated a few times as well. I would’ve liked the drama ramped up a little more with the ex-fiance but overall I was satisfied with the story.

There were two characters that will be getting their own book, Kendall(Evie’s bff) and Drew(Josh’s bff). Their appearances here were funny, however, Drew annoyed my pants off  and I for the life of me can’t understand how/why he and Josh were friends, which now makes me wanna read their book so I can understand this douchebag. Overall this book was a 5 star read for me and you should totally add it!

My Best Friend’s Ex…Review

mbfeBlurb: When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.

Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal since Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.

Boy, was I wrong.

Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.

Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.

But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.

Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.

Review: Well this isn’t what I was expecting. First off let me say that I am glad I read the blurb. The title is a turn off for me, it sounds like one of those “Sleeping with the Billionaire Bad Boy and Having his Baby While being His Temporary Secretary since the Permanent One is on Maternity Leave” (no offense if this is your genre, read what ‘cha like)types of books that make me insane. Now, the cover model is hot but because I also read Co-Wrecker, he isn’t how I pictured Tucker but he’ll do. On to the story.

Meghan Quinn has done it again. This freaking book was so good I couldn’t put it down. Although it took me two days to read (I’m in the South of France and the beach has been calling my name) it was so worth savoring. Tucker is the “ex” from the book Co-Wrecker, he was a likable enough character in that book, he just seemed super needy to me so I was a bit nervous to give him a chance in this book. He was needy alright, but not in the way I was thinking. The story is told in both the main characters, Tucker and Emma, first person point of view which almost always wins brownie points in my book. Tucker is complex yet extremely simple and so damn loving that you will love him as much as Emma does.

Emma is super cute. We also met her in Co-Wrecker yet, she is so much more than her quiet character suggested from the previous book. Here we get to see her open up with her group of friends from school. She is more laid back and not so matronly with them which is fun. The only thing I wondered about is why she wanted to be a nurse. Maybe it was burnout but girlfriend seemed to hate doing “nursey-type” things so I wasn’t sure if that is the right career path for her. In true Meghan Quin fashion, the road to romance with these two is fun, funny and sexy all at the same time so you can’t help but root for their coupledom. I was a bit nervous when the “ex” came back into the picture but it was done tastefully and honestly making this book a knockout for me. I totally enjoyed it and I am so hoping to get a book with Racer as the lead. I laughed so hard at him at times that he HAS to make a reappearance somewhere done the line. 4.5 stars for this fun read I had to take .5 star away for that darn title but other than that this is worth the time!

Being Brooke…Review

Review: Being Brooke is a standalone romantic comedy. Hilarious, super-sexy, and possibly highly inappropriate at times, this is the perfect feel-good read!

Welllll….that’s close. I would consider it a romantic comedy sure, however, it falls in the Will Ferrell-trying-too-hard-to-be-funny type of comedy. Now, don’t get me wrong, some Will Ferrell stuff is funny and this book has its moments it’s just most of the moments feel forced. I am not doubting that a 23-24-year-old isn’t a hot mess, hell I know I was back then, but this girl is beyond help. She is ridiculously hopeless (except for baking) at times and I so didn’t get it. Overall, I did like her character. She was sweet and funny at times and the relationship she has with Cain is the stuff friends to lovers novels strive for. I fell in love with them both! Emma Hart does a great job with romance so I didn’t doubt that the chemistry between the two would be great

I loved Cain and Carly, Brooke’s best friends, they really shine in this story, however, her Grandpa is the shining star of this novel. He was the funniest, dirty old man I’ve ever read. I swear I laughed out loud at his obnoxiousness.I wish there was just a tad bit more drama with Cain’s snooty gf but the little interaction with her that we get is enough to get the gist of her part in the story. All in all, this was a fun read and I give it 4 stars!

Amazon: It’s $.99 right now!

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00027]My name is Brooke Barker…

And I’m a freaking disaster.

No, seriously. I’m a college drop-out working a dead-end job, my best friend Carly’s dog gets more action than I do, and I have more bad dates in my diary than there are movie remakes.

Not to mention I’m completely and utterly in love with Cain Elliott. The problem? He’s in a relationship. With a girl who’s so plastic she makes Barbie cry herself to sleep with jealousy.

The second problem? He’s my best friend. My shut-up-and-put-harry-potter, yes-this-is-your-shirt, help-I-have-no-power, crap-I’m-out-of-tampon, kinda best friend.

And that’s all he can be, right? Right.
