On a Tuesday…Review

onatuesdayWe met on a Tuesday.
Became best friends, then lovers, on a Tuesday.
And it all fell apart on a Tuesday…

Charlotte Taylor has three automatic strikes in my book: 1) She hates me. She also claims that I’m a “domineering jerk with a huge, overbearing ego.” (I do have something huge. It’s not my ego, though.) 2) She takes our mandatory tutoring sessions way too seriously. 3) She’s sexy as hell…And a virgin.

At least, those were her strikes before our study sessions started lasting longer than they were supposed to. Until one innocent kiss became a hundred dirty ones, and until she became the first woman I ever fell hard for.

Our future together after graduation was supposed to be set:
Professional football for me. Law school for her.

But she left me at the end of the semester with no explanation, and then she completely disappeared from my life.

Until tonight.

We met on a Tuesday.
Became everything, then nothing, on a Tuesday.
And now it’s seven years later, on a Tuesday…

**This is a second chance romance, inspired by Adele’s “When We Were Young”**

Review: I started finished this book while I at the hair salon yesterday. I couldn’t put it down. I literally was reading in the waiting room, at the shampoo bowl, under the hair dryer, in the styling seat while I was getting my hair flat ironed. It was that good! I love a good love story and Whitney G manages to do it right every time.

Grayson (I love this name) is so hot and lovingly sweet it is ridiculous. I am a big-time football fan and the fact that he played added to his sexy. The cover model totally helped. Charlotte was no slouch either, she was smart and sexy and made my boy work hard for her heart. She didn’t put up with his shit At. All.

I loved that this book volleys back and forth between the past and present as well as between voices. We get to hear the story told from Grayson and Charlotte. But let me tell you what, there comes a point in this story when I was ready to slap a hoe, y’all. She was really about 2 seconds from getting it!! The wringing is good and the way the story unfolds keeps your attention. All in all this was a fantastic read for me. Considering I am knee deep in Creative Non-Fiction as well as Shakespeare…Oh! I can’t forget Modern Literary Theory this break from all the drab was wonderful. I give it 5 stars!

Cocky Client…Review

cocky clientBlurb: Today is officially the worst day of my life…

I woke up five hours late after a reckless one-night stand with the sexiest, cockiest, and most arrogant man I’ve ever met. (And this asshole actually left a note: I think you were lying to me about being “experienced” last night. You orgasmed three times, and that was before we made it to your bedroom. I also find it hard to believe you “usually wear silk or lingerie.” Your drawers are all full of cotton granny panties–The best man you’ve ever fucked…)

My top two clients for my PR company left to my number one competitor, my roommate ‘accidentally’ bleached my favorite suit, and my favorite coffee shop was shut down for “health concerns.”

Still, none of those things dimmed my excitement for what was supposed to be the best four o’clock signing session of my career. I was on the verge of signing the highest paying client in my company’s history, taking on a so-called “impossible” job that no publicist had been able to handle.

But at four o’clock, there was no athlete, television personality, or celebrity. Instead, that sexy, arrogant one-night stand stepped into my office with a familiar smirk and introduced himself as my new, cocky client

Review: I am currently in a love-hate relationship with novellas. I love them because they are like little pallet cleansers between books, and I hate them because they always leave me wanting more. Especially when it is written by Whitney G. This woman writes amazing short stories and whenever I need a break I grab something of hers. I fell in love with her awhile ago when I picked up the Reasonable Doubt series and she has been a favorite go-to ever since.

Okay, enough blabbering, on with the book. I f*cking LOVED it! I love all of her cocky mini’s (who are far from miniature if you know what I mean). However, I will admit to being a creature of habit and WG’s Steamy Coffee Collection has become a habit. They all have similar storylines and I am absolutely fine with that as long as the writing is good. And it is good. Ryan, the cocky client, is a complete A-hole. He isn’t my favorite lead male but I completely enjoyed the banter between him and Penelope, who is my favorite female lead in this series so far. She is a take no sh*t kinda gal and I absolutely love her. I wasn’t so sure when she first met Ryan if she was gonna be able to handle it but she proved me wrong and I ended up enjoying her character more than his.

The bad…it’s a FREAKING novella! I wanted more story. I wanted more bickering with the competition, I wanted a fight (not physical but a tug of war for her love)between the ex-fiance and Ryan, I wanted more doggone it! Overall, I really enjoyed this and 4 stars are what I’m giving it.
